Commissioner Race a Tight One — in Money
By Peter Roper of the Pueblo Chieftain
The race between Democrat Chris Wiseman and Republican Zach Swearingen for Pueblo County commissioner appears close — at least as far as campaign funds are concerned.
Candidates for state and county offices filed updated campaign spending reports earlier this month and Wiseman’s report gives him a slight edge in fundraising.
He’s raised a total of $29,245 compared to Swearingen’s $24,953.
Both men received about $10,000 each since their July report and Wiseman, the former general manager of the Colorado State Fair, got much of that from two Fair vendors.
Tommy G Productions donated $5,500 in yard signs while Crabtree Amusements, which operates the Fair carnival, gave $3,000.
